As a pioneer of futuristic design and the use of technology in fashion, André Courrèges made a name for himself in Paris and was appropriately nicknamed “the Space Age designer.” Since its launch in 1961, his eponymous label, Courrèges, has been a source of inspiration and influence for women’s fashion worldwide. Widely credited with having invented the mini skirt in 1965, the innovative brand reflected a time of freedom and experimentation. The current artistic director, Nicolas Di Felice, presents house signatures like the little white dress, gabardine miniskirts, go-go boots alongside vinyl trousers, Americana-inspired denim jackets and classic leather handbags. The contemporary collection is defined by nipped-in waists and fitted cuts that enhance the feminine form and accessories complementing the unique fashions.
