Opening Ceremony

Founded in 2002 by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Opening Ceremony began life as a brick-and-mortar shop in Lower Manhattan, offering a collection of monochrome knitwear. Since its launch, the company has gone on to gain a cult following, with a broad range of ready-to-wear and contemporary accessories, tying fashion obsessions with culture at large. The name is inspired by the modern Olympics, paying homage to the brand’s aim of curating pieces worldwide. The US label has become known for its support of young designers and its plethora of collaborations with Chloe Sevigny, Vans, COMMES des GARCONS, Adidas and Maison Martin Margiela.
